The Web Poetry Corner - Dr. John Celes - Things seem to be better?

Things seem to be better?

by

Dr. John Celes

It seems, the tempest in my life's over;
The thunderstorm has finally quite ceased;
The country-side now wears a green cover;
My poetic toil has my heart almost pleased.

The weather has turned out to be pleasant;
The Rain does come but never with fury;
I've learnt in life to be more tolerant;
Let me for sometime, the hatchet bury.

But once again, my heart's fill’d with sadness!
Can I ever reform this wretch’d world?
Redeem the innocent from its madness
And in younger hearts, a new hope herald?
I must not give up God, ’tis too early,
With Thee for Friend, success will come surely.
