The Web Poetry Corner - Dr. John Celes - Sonnet- The Devils Never Stop

Sonnet- The Devils Never Stop

by

Dr. John Celes

Just when I feel a bit relieved at heart,
The thought to commit sin arises fast,
Assuring me of speedy joy as part,
A sense of achievement, more than in past.

Just when God has given some peace of mind;
The devils start to trouble me again;
Can I be ungrateful to God who’s kind?
To fight devils I need His grace like Rain.

The war with devils perhaps, starts from birth;
But Man must live as per his conscience;
And such is life for man on planet Earth;
And in these realms pow'rless are man and Science.
Man's soul must stay afree from all evils;
And Prayer is the weapon ’gainst devils.
