Visual Basic
by

Open your eyes and write what you see
then forget what you see and write what you feel
Sometimes
I'm blind with eyes
wide open.
Sometimes
the racket of the machine renders my ears useless and
I'm deaf and dumb drowning
in a black sea
of white noise
then I write what I feel and it's harsh
but it's real
and you can't take it personally because
it's way too personal for that
and if it makes you feel bad then
maybe that's good.
Sometimes
art is supposed to do that
So hit me.
Make it hurt.
The pain is real and reminds me to feel
then maybe I can see again
and we're back to visual basic
where I can close my eyes
write what I feel
and make it real
