Hum

There is a time of day
sound ebbs and wanes away.
It would be gone but for the film
it leaves as it's decay.

There is a time of night
the humming of the light
above your desk is all you hear
to mask the silence of your ear.

It is in this awful time alone
when full of fears you sit
and contemplate the empty drone
that loneliness will find you home.
