The Web Poetry Corner - Dina Dinsmoor - Nesting

Nesting

by

Dina Dinsmoor

Pink fishing wire
and she floats away
twigs of a maple tree
sewn in the right way
a young mans blue ribbon
tossed to the wind to her
the robin takes the prize
its stronger with some burrs
she brushes down some feathers
to make the softest bed
and winks at the girl on the road
does she know just what i said
and weaves it all together
with songs without the words
these treasures for the off spring
to keep them safe and warm
