The Web Poetry Corner - Dina Dinsmoor - Grey

Grey

by

Dina Dinsmoor

Photos faded after many years
letters wrapped in ribbon souvenirs
kept for their permanence
postcards, mementos, remnants

Grey stone cold against my hand
letters etched in solid sand
a dash between the days
does nothing to explain

A journal that she kept for work
plans for the day September third
dinner after work
with a friend of hers

with a friend of hers

My eyes are cloudy, shadows in the air
sounds surround me
footsteps on the stair
I clean the house empty
but it doesn’t seem fair
