Trips to Boulder

by

Diane Klammer

I am a pebble
I ping pong where I wish to live
Slingshot from LA to Colorado
And back again

My desire weighs me down
A stone around my neck
Propels me along

I love Boulder
A place like no other
The movement wears on me
I want to dig roots
Rocks prove resistant

Little by little
Over time
This erosion
Slowly overtakes my body
I straddle two states

I roll to and fro
From each space
The magnet City of Angels
Keeps pulling me back
I determine to become a mountain
