The Web Poetry Corner - Diane Klammer - Mushroom Cloud

Mushroom Cloud

by

Diane Klammer

Poisonous mushroom
Destroying angel
If you explode
Your spores will blow
Fill the sky
Cover the earth
With a dark death cloud

Most of us know
Mushrooms decay
Still
We propagate
Still
We cultivate
Still
We watch you grow
Even as
We cringe
In fear of
Your black shroud
