The Web Poetry Corner - Delores Senkbeil - THE LONG AND LONELY NIGHT
THE LONG AND LONELY NIGHT
by
Delores Senkbeil
So slowly the sun is decending,
So soon the day will be ending,
And then --- the long and lonely night.
Alone am I with thoughts of you,
Wondering how I'll see it thru,
The never ending --- long and lonely night.
The days are not so hard to bear,
Since now I know you really care,
But then --- the long and lonely night.
I go to bed and just can't sleep,
My thoughts of you are oh, so deep,
All thru --- the long and lonely night.
I pray that someday soon you'll be
Right here, darling, holding me,
For then there'll never ever be
Another lonely night for me.
