The Web Poetry Corner - Delores Senkbeil - SILENTLY WE LOVE

SILENTLY WE LOVE

by

Delores Senkbeil

Silently we love, only by the written word.
Silently our cares and woes we share,
With someone so sweet and understanding,
Someone we feel, does really care.

This someone brightens a gloomy day.
Hope we'll never have to part.
Sometimes I even feel a flickering,
Of that dying ember in my heart.

This someone certainly does inspire me,
In so many things I do.
I hope I too, give this someone.
Some inspiration too.

It's such a hectic world we live in.
Feelings are kept hidden deep in our heart.
To have a faithful, loving friend to confide in,
Make some of these aching feelings depart.

Only God is aware of this love that we share.
Loving friends we always will be,
No matter what happens in the future,
These memories will remain with me

(Age does not protect you from love, but love,
to some extent, protects you from age - Moreau -
