The Web Poetry Corner - Delores Senkbeil - My Heart's Beacon Light

My Heart's Beacon Light

by

Delores Senkbeil

I'm going to love you tonight, my sweet,
While my heart is still beaming.
Our tomorrows will only come,
If I can keep right on dreaming.

The beacon light in my heart
Is flickering like a candle.
I know that all this depression,
Is more than it can handle.

It was shining brightly now, for so long,
As our love was growing stronger.
Now it feels so desolate,
And can bear the pain no longer.

Please don't give up on me, dear heart.
As long as dreams I can endeavor,
This is a love I just cannot lose.
I want your beacon light to shine forever.
