The Web Poetry Corner - Delores Senkbeil - HUGGING MY PILLOW

HUGGING MY PILLOW

by

Delores Senkbeil

I hug my pillow every night,
After a long and lonely day.
It seems to comfort me a little,
While you're so far away.

Holding my pillow so close to me,
Pretending I'm holding you.
Makes me feel that I am not alone,
That you are with me too.

My pillow gives me security,
Like a baby's pacifier.
Makes me feel much closer,
To the one I so admire.

All night long I wonder,
How long will I have to pretend,
I want you here besides me, dear,
My love, my life, my friend.
