The Web Poetry Corner - Dee Dee La - Diddle-Diddle

Diddle-Diddle

by

Dee Dee La

Hey, Diddle-Diddle, the Cat and the fiddle.
The Cow jumped over the Moon.
The little Dog laughed to see such sport,
And the Dish ran away with the spoon...

Hey there, my child.
Let me sing you a song.
And one day I know that you'll be singing along.
Hey there, my child,
We'll have lots of fun
With me as your mother and youas my son,
Singing:

"Hey, Diddle-Diddle, the Cat and the fiddle.
The Cow jumped over the Moon.
The little Dog laughed to see such sport,
And the Dish ran away with the spoon."

Christopher Michael,
What have you done?
You sweetened the flowers and brightened up the Sun.
Christopher Michael,
Won't you come out to play?
We'll laugh, and we'll dance, and we'll sing the day away,
Singing:

"Hey, Diddle-Diddle, the Cat and the fiddle.
The Cow jumped over the Moon.
The little Dog laughed to see such sport,
And the Dish ran away with the spoon."
