The Web Poetry Corner - Daniel Bradbury - Floating Away

Floating Away

by

Daniel Bradbury

Don't cry for me
Don't cry for me
When all is said and done
This is the way that I'd rather be

Don't cry for
Don't cry for me
The way things stand
This is the only end that I can see

When changes are felt
And new hands are dealt
The real world is knocking at my door
When the ones I trust lie
Or the ones I love die
That's just the real world with it's hands around my neck

Floating away
Floating away
When you wake up
Where I slept will be empty

Good-bye
Good-bye
Is the only thing I can say
