The Web Poetry Corner - Clarius Ugwuoha - Song of the lagoon

Song of the lagoon

by

Clarius Ugwuoha

On a log by the bar I sit myself
And look you straight in your quivering eyes,
Feel the pulse through your veins
As you race shorewards in repeated flux.

Your fringe of trees stands in silenced awe
As you bath in your watery stretch
Ageless though you are
You still work with tireless ease!

Your lapping songs drench me to the bones
As I sit by the bar:

Lagoon
Lapping
Against
Groves
Of trees
Observing
natures's

Festal
Rituals
On end
Never getting
Tired in the least!
