The Web Poetry Corner - Christine McGuigan - Untitled

Untitled

by

Christine McGuigan

So you lack the inspiration
To write...
Where did it go?
You can't find it
At the bottom
Of all those liquor bottles.
It's not hiding
Inside of the pseudo father figures
Who pay you to expose the bruises
Beaten into your soul.
WAKE UP, PRETTY BABY!
It's buried within your heart...

BUT THE AGONY
Of opening coffins
You tried so hard
To lay to rest...
Tortured if you do,
Tormented if you don't.
