The Web Poetry Corner - Charles Laird - No Rest Yet

No Rest Yet

by

Charles Laird

All along I was deaf
Couldn't hear the catch-phrase that would make me sad
Bordem comes like second-chance
Why is it funny when they stop to drop my pants?

I'm wanted dead

Figured out my last stance
Look at me and you'll know I don't stand a chance
On my way to make amends
What's the point in keeping your best friends?

I'm wanted dead

I don't need this handicap
I don't want to cut my life in half
What's the use in saving friends?
Cause you know that later they'll stab you in the back
