WAR FAILED ME A DUTY 2

by

Chan Mongol

Father took death risk to save me,
But I didn't do duty to my father ;
I acted selfish, obeyed his command,
Left him in the war-field, in danger!

Why did I leave him in death-net,
My conscience was bothering;
I was returning from safe place,
Before sun-rise, in tha morning!

No-man's land but birds and cattles,
No rampage, all disappeared from fear;
Neighbors left my father in the street,
Blood drained out of my Dad, my dear!

My teen strength attempted but I failed,
To pull to bring near grandma's grave;
Dis-honored, for war, promise un-filled,
Carried far to burry by unknown brave!
