The Web Poetry Corner - Chan Mongol - WAR FAILED ME A DUTY 1

WAR FAILED ME A DUTY 1

by

Chan Mongol

He inspired me, gave courage
"Son", don't cry for me if I die;
I am older and it will come,
Then, next my ma, put me to lie!

But I couldn't keep the promise,
I failed to let him have his sleep;
Next to my grand mother's grave,
His last wish, I couldn't keep!

It was war and he couldn't pass,
Became target when stood in height;
Enemy saw him in the BIG Street,
A bullet pierched his heart in that fight!

I was the last who saw him alive,
With commitment, tremendous power;
To protect me, to not to get killed,
From bayonet-bullet, nimbler sprier!

NEXT?
Why don't you look at WHERE DID IT GO?
