The Web Poetry Corner - Candi Timmerman - warmth

warmth

by

Candi Timmerman

watched you and you never knew it.
I saw how you smiled at those rare few who did more than amuse you_oh god I want that_
To be more_
More than just a bottle of shampoo in your shower_
More than just a discarded nightgown on your floor_
More than just a warm body in your bed_
I want to be in your thoughts when you lay down
to sleep_
I want to be the angel in your dreams who supports
you even when you think no one does.
I want to be your everything,
Or at least
The sun,
At least a part of your world
That you’d miss.
