The Web Poetry Corner - Candi Timmerman - the crazy room
the crazy room
by
Candi Timmerman
You said you would go down deep into me_how frightening. I am so afraid for you to touch the real thing inside of me.
Afraid you will see me.
I wonder if I am different from (anyone)
All of those who came before.
I long to amaze you, to make you see me and long for more.
To have to touch me_and crave my kiss.
I want to pull you down into me and put your fears to rest.
To let you see that I long to be who you need.
The one to bring you up, the one to make you laugh, the wonderful one who will give you joy.
You seem so lonely sometimes, even when I hold you as tight as I can, there is still some part of you I may never reach.
And that will be okay, because you will remain a door opened only a little.
One I can peek into and
Push my crazy ideas into,
And yet never fully taint the room,
Never permeate the air.
And you will be my calm-
My shelter.
Perhaps my savior- if it is real.
And still just a door to a room that is there,
But not my world.
I could love you,
But I won’t-
Not yet.
What we have is too precious to ruin,
Too perfect to hurry,
Too sweet to taste,
I hope not too good to last.
