The Web Poetry Corner - Candi Timmerman - that face
that face
by
Candi Timmerman
ten thousand times i sit
and i look at the ever changing
crag of skin.
it is never pleasing, but sometimes special.
sometimes the sun hits in that way that makes it ethereal
and not quite so lined.
sometimes when the snow falls just so, and the wind hits it like the slap that makes cheeks rosy,
the rock takes on a hue that is pleasing
to the senses,
and sometimes
breathtaking.
but often, in the grey of the afternoon,
the common tired sullen sky makes the
face of the rock just that...
just a rock.
