The Web Poetry Corner - Candi Timmerman - interim

interim

by

Candi Timmerman

Away,
Make it go away
Make the world be so much clearer
You all want to see me fall_
I won’t
You all want to hear me scream_
I won’t
You all think my life is yours_
It’s not
You all think I’ll die_
I won’t
You all think my world crumbles,
It doesn’t.
It is only you and your blind eyes
Not seeing who I am or what I do
Not seeing anything
I won’t fall and die
I will rise and live
And when you see me
Someday laughing as loud as I used to cry
Pulling myself out of the fire you lit
You’ll wonder at the wonder I have become and wish
That you had loved me
When I gave you the chance.
