The Web Poetry Corner - C. E. Chandler - The Greatest Job

The Greatest Job

by

C. E. Chandler

As it gets late, my mind drifts away,
to a time not so long ago.
You were small and had just started to play,
somewhat like a frisky pup I know.

You'll always be a part of me,
yet alone you stedfastly stand.
I pray that God will always oversee,
and keep you saftly in his hand.

I realize the dream I knew,
has already come true.

It's The Greatest Job I've ever had,
being called by you, Dad.
