The Web Poetry Corner - C. E. Chandler - Someday

Someday

by

C. E. Chandler

I sometimes forget, but yes, I'm older,
and there's an old love still in my heart.
I remember well, now that I'm older,
what you told me the day we had to part.

You promised that you would come back to me,
many years have passed, and I'm still waiting, patiently.

You promised you would write, but so far not a line,
still I wait and make believe someday you'll be mine.

I keep on praying for your safe return....Someday,
hopeing it will be the same as when you went away.
