The Web Poetry Corner - C. E. Chandler - Fame

Fame

by

C. E. Chandler

When I open the door,
what wonders await me.
Will I find treasures galore,
or will there be nothing to see.

Will I feel laughter and happiness,
or find pain and failure?
I'll just have to guess,
or maybe, I'll open the door.

I plunge into the dark of night,
and find no place for me to sleep.
I hear the night scream with fright,
and instead of happiness, I only weep.

Soon daylight will be on it's way,
and all the clouds will have departed.
It's time now to stop and play,
as the winter will soon be started.

Your life will take you to many doors.
Sometimes you will find failure and pain,
and sometimes you'll find happiness galore.
How you use your choices will determine your Fame.
