MY HEART'S SONG
by
Bulusu Lakshman
Ring, ring, ring, the words sing
Rhyme, chime and a melody they do bring
The music the air does rent and I, for long
Dance to the tune of my heart's song!
The music does lend many a string
And thereby enliven the fairest thing
Likewise deeds, helpful and willing
Do service to a faintest being.
A life, joyful and content, has a lot to mean
Immaterial of what I have been
Sing the glory, sing the blues
Play well my part and save the dues.
Sing, sing, sing, the words ring in
Unfold a whole new world within
Where in each true and candid thought
Are dear than the value of gold ever bought.
With feelings of love so sweet and tender
More that just read, recite and render
These strains in all their art
Complete the song of my heart!
