The Web Poetry Corner - Bruce Richard Wallace - If they could tell the truth

If they could tell the truth

by

Bruce Richard Wallace

If they could tell the truth people might see.
Who they really are and not who they pretend to be.
I am just damn tired of them breaking the rules.
Just who are these fools.
If they could tell the truth.

(chorus)
Everybody well they listen when it comes
down to this.
Liars take the truth and twist it.
They can not tell it like it is.
Christina they got us all in trouble
With their lies I ask God why he
Says because they can not tell the truth.

We all were good friends the lies started
Up again
I thought it was you, you thought it was me.
We were all good friends do not blame it on me.
Now can you see it was them not me because
They can not tell the truth.

(chorus)

Everybody well they listen when it comes
down to this.
Liars take the truth and twist it.
They can not tell it like it is.
Christina they got us all in trouble
With their lies I ask God why he
Says because they can not tell the truth
