The Web Poetry Corner - Binky Cafferky - The Guard

The Guard

by

Binky Cafferky

Above my bed he hangs
staring down at me
with his cold grey eyes
he yells at me to give
him a job guarding me

I say no

His eyes are evil
they cut me like a knife
he is begging me
screaming at me
tearing me with his eyes
I take him off the wall
I hang him on the door
his evil eyes stare at me
no more

The shadowy form of a wolf now
guards my door
