The Web Poetry Corner - Azra Daniel Francis - Twins

Twins

by

Azra Daniel Francis

Beliefs
About some people
Selling souls to devils,

Are a pile of crap!

I know.
I try each day.
And every day.

To date
There've been no takers.

All I ask for in return
Is just a little food
Each day
Just once a day
Just for my little grubby self.

(To hell with starving
Mother, brothers, sisters.
They have souls themselves to sell.)

Great Lucifer
Cannot afford to part
With just a little food
Just once a day?

A half a fruit?
Perhaps?
A half a slice of week-old
Mouldy bread?
Perhaps?

I know his co-conspirator,
Almighty God,
Cannot.

NEXT?
Why don't you look at The Young Man and the OId Man
