The Web Poetry Corner - Azra Daniel Francis - For just a day, good god!

For just a day, good god!

by

Azra Daniel Francis

To be Almighty God
For just a day!
One short and tiny single day.

I don't need six
So long
They'd make me need to rest.

Good god!
The Things I'd do:

The liar's tongue
I'd make
The liar's instant gibbet noose!

Old age, and illness, procreation, injury, and death
Would be no more.

I'd be a God
That didn't need
These inefficient
Ugly, childish, stupid ways
To serve
My Greater Plans;

Still less
To serve
My True though single-day Divinity.

Why don't you look at An Ode to IUD (I had to do this for health class)
