The Web Poetry Corner - Azra Daniel Francis - Counting sheep. And skeletons.
Counting sheep. And skeletons.
by
Azra Daniel Francis
Why is it every
Otherwise happy family
Has skeletons in the closet
And black sheep in the flock?
Because everyone refrains
From telling our children
The family's conscious sins,
And so with ignorance
We curse them
To become next generation's
Non-white sheepish
Skeletons locked banished,
Hanging, lynched,
In ashamed
Darkness?
NEXT?
Why don't you look at
Winters Breath, A Sonnet For Esther
