The Web Poetry Corner - Azra Daniel Francis - Collateral damage.

Collateral damage.

by

Azra Daniel Francis

Lot's wife was turned to salt
Because she looked back.

Where was the crime
Looking back one last time?
Where was the sinful fault
In her being sad at
Leaving a home
Which by God's own admission
Through Angels' Presence,
Was the only good one
Left in a degenerate nation?

What? God did not have smart bombs
Among his weapons
Of mass destruction
He nine-elevened down on
Middle-East Gomorrah-Saddam?

NEXT?
Why don't you look at Mists, clearing
