The Web Poetry Corner - Azra Daniel Francis - Best wishes for all.

Best wishes for all.

by

Azra Daniel Francis

If only
I had been a god
Almighty-powered.
Man!
What a god I would have been.

More loving than the gods
Who rob
The infant child
Of life
While yet within the mother's womb;

Maturer than the gods
Who need to prove their truth
By letting evil be;

Not spitefully a god
So jealous
Loves to keep
Humanity in painful
Ignorance.

Oh, yeah,
Man,
What a god
I would have been
If only I had been
A god
Almighty-powered.
