The Web Poetry Corner - Azra Daniel Francis - Best famous last words.
Best famous last words.
by
Azra Daniel Francis
We all die for the same reason:
When this body accomplishes
Its self-imposed mission
To evolve bone-and-skin
Into spiritual transfiguration.
If we abort by suicide,
We are trapped
To come back
For another try.
But when we don't give up the fight
To stay alive
Despite injustices and all the lies
By evil gods and evil people equally devised,
And still we die;
It means: 'It is finished;
This body I commit into spirit'
For it has won, gloriously,
Sublimation
Into soul, forever joyously
Free of all corruption
And limitation.
