The Web Poetry Corner - Arnab De - An ode to a wound

An ode to a wound

by

Arnab De

If only you came to hear, came to hear how I talk
My wound would sing to you, this love dialogue_

My lip is a love line; my tears are its letters
Life is a sad shame tonight_
If you want to hear an ode, an ode from the heart
Come and see me cry_
If only you came to see, came to see how I feel
You would find a wound, a wound none can heal!

A wound I nurse with tears, but tears hurt
A hurt the world will not see_
For I will steal its sight, with my smile
The wound’s for you and me_
If only you came to see, came to see how I look
I could win every casino, but to you I will lose

And in the casino of life, I gambled my fate
My fortune was passionate love_
And I made love, all night I played
As the stars blazed above
If only you came to see, came to see how I live
You would cherish a love, you could not believe!

This love I can’t sell, for all men are poor
They refuse to simmer like me_
But what good is life, if love can’t endure
A bleeding eternity!
If only you came to hear, came to hear how I talk
My wound would sing to you, this love dialogue_

If only you came to hear, came to hear how I talk
My wound would sing to you, this love dialogue_
