The Web Poetry Corner - Anne Strausser - yipes nuclear war.
yipes nuclear war.

Today in the daily news,
I've read about the possible additional
casualties if the world broke out into
a nuclear war.
Still as the mounts of innocent bodies gather.
and the drained blood flows
like a crestinng riverwith no banks.
but still as women and children scream
and the channel of a loved one in between.
It seems like walking in a peaceful world
may never be seen
as the destruction of lives are embarked.
yet not enough to be renowned.
because they don't care who's safe and sound.
more death and destruction they rather.
as if it were possible to even the score.
still they will continue to go to war.
you still need to ask what's
all this fighting for.
the mass of graves lay dormant.
but those who live in a free land will never understand.
alot take their freedom for granite,
they prefer to follow the greedy in demand.
we will never witness from our eyes,
what should be in our hearts.
yet still innocent lives are willfully disposed,
becaused war is still embarked.
in stead of tallying the lives,
that if a neclear war were to start.
think instead of a truce,
lives could be saved, I'm sure with your
restless heart, evil doesn't really want to be your game.
please don't kill off more innocent lives,
look at their faces, don't you feel the shame.
peace is written all over their faces,
this you can implore.
