Song Of Silence
by
Anne Strausser
I hear suttle echoes within the wind,
the voices of someone who's life had been.
The echoes are clearest on the palest night.
I looked over my sholder,
something quite wasn't right.
It was my heart that made me turn around.
as I looked distantly at an eagle as it touched the ground.
If you listen closely to the sounds,
of the silence, as the wind spins around.
So many lives, so many lives,
it wasn't their time,
But the evil in this world cut them down in their prime.
Was it the greed, or was it the drugs,
was it the lack of compassion from someones hugs.
maybe they just didn't have a dime.
maybe they were a victim of crime.
or even worse what if they lost their life one night.
Because of someone's ignorance, thus a hate crime.
Maybe someone else will hear the echos of silence
in the wind.
As a tribute of lives lost in the world.
As a tribute of a lost world.
Running from truth, running from peace,
Just remember to let you heart speak.
