The Web Poetry Corner - Anne Strausser - Hourglass

Hourglass

by

Anne Strausser

The world sits in silence.
Yet to be inspired to it's full purpose.
As tears float the abandoned reigns of hope.
Does one really know of its past destiny.
CAn any provide the excuse,
and live in a willful truce.
yet so young,
to be cast out to tide.
As truth will provide.
In the shadows love does wait.
And it hammers apon the iron gate.
