The Web Poetry Corner - Anne Strausser - Best Of Sisters

Best Of Sisters

by

Anne Strausser

If we were the best of sisters,
would that make us the best of friends.
When someone wrongs me,
makes a shadow of my life will your love always defend.
And if years make a challenge of our life.
Pride and rivaled confusion,
makes it difficult for us to be tight.
still within the rivalry,
still within the doubt,
could it be possible to make an amends.
If we were to be the best of sisters
would that make us the best of friends.
Had someone ask me if I were secure.
And walked in acceptance and sisterly love.
I'd say when.
But through all the years of distance.
ALl the space in time.
I still wonder if it were gods destiny.
IN this world you would be a friend of mine.
If it were important to me,
for you to understand,
not just of the past reflections of my life.
but of the person I am.
I had walked well in my shoes.
But never having known first you need
to stand before you can walk.
Maybe the memorie of the freedom
in our childhood, makes it nimble to talk.
I will never remember,
Because you had forgot.
One things for sure,
I will be all but fine.'
Because we still havn't achieved the
best of sisters, nor the best of friends.
