The Web Poetry Corner - Angela Darlene Bean - The 70's

The 70's

by

Angela Darlene Bean

The revolution
Just a teenage wasteland
Getting stoned, twisted, ripped
Rock stars get stoned
It's ok for them to behave however
Lou Reed sings about drugs
People got addicted
It became crazy, out of hand
It started at getting high
to feel good
It came to getting high
to feel numb, take away the pain
1 in 4 servicemen became addicted to heroin
It became a teenage wasteland
Drugs, sex, and rock n roll
Death, war, decay
This is the 70's
