The Web Poetry Corner - Angela Bean - I hit my knee

I hit my knee

by

Angela Bean

I hit my knee
On my desk
The blood starts flowing
Then runs out
Of my knee
And I hold it
Crying
Damnit, that hurt
I didn’t think
I hit it that hard
I must be mistaken
It hurt like hell
The blood flows out of my knee
Like my life is being drained from my soul
I will not grow old
I am about to die
Wither away and never come back
No one will
Remember me
And no one will know who I am
