Rules of Friendship

by

Amanda Marcus

Here are some rules of friendship
which arenít really rules at all.
Itís just common courtesy
to help friends not to fall.

First, when youíre mad at someone,
tell them, donít just keep it in.
Itíll make them wonder
what they did to deserve this pain.

Second, if a friend is sad,
donít make it worse. Pranks
and jokes can wait until
another time, another place.

Third, and last is the best of all, donít
let friends feel friendship will fall.
No one is helped when you put them down,
especially, if you nail them in the ground.

Here are some rules of friendship
which arenít really rules at all.
Itís just common courtesy
to help friends not to fall.
