The Web Poetry Corner - Alfy Andrews - will my soul rise?

will my soul rise?

by

Alfy Andrews

The seas are roaring
Waves over me are rolling
saline water on me is flowing
On these tempestous waters i ride
Soon i may be swept away by the tide
The ship is tossed and the night is dark
Underneath swims the great white shark
I fear that blue waters may be my grave
Who can this helpless man now save?
Though my flesh sink down into the depths
Will my soul rise above the liquid steps?
Then i heard a sweet voice from heaven
crying, deep deep as the deepest sea
Is the saviour's love for the sinner
Now i know that His blood shall set me free
That day the tempestous sea was at peace
The inner cry for a saving love did cease
Safe to the shore, yea My Jesus is the winner!.
