The Web Poetry Corner - Alfy Andrews - The Nail's Reflection
The Nail's Reflection
by
Alfy Andrews
Iam hard, I pierce and cause pain, for Iam very sharp
those fingers that use me may never fiddle a harp
The Roman soldier licks my head with a solid hammer
And I go through the flesh of people with ill-manner
Only once in history upon sinful earth's land
I came in contact with a beautiful and noble hand
Those hands were clean and soft as rose petals
I pierced and went through ,for Iam just cruel metal
The blood that smeared me,was pure as from a spotless lamb
then I knew, those petals are from the rose of Sharon
Oh! how I wish that dark day, me a ruthless nail
Would turn out to be blunt, and crucifixion fails
But glory to God, though I caused Lord Jesus pain
He beat the foe, saved His own and He rose again.
