The Web Poetry Corner - Alfy Andrews - Mortify

Mortify

by

Alfy Andrews

With a heart that bleeds
And a mind that wants to fly
With eyes filled with tears
my flesh constantly pleads
For those juicy forbidden pears
It cries dont mortify,dont mortify
But the Spirit said, let me rule
Oh Iam betwixt in this great war
Where I must be wise,not a fool
The FLESH vs The spirit
The spirit filled life must I embrace
The flesh must scarcely show it's face
Lord discipline me and mortify.
