The Web Poetry Corner - Alfy Andrews - More than these
More than these
by
Alfy Andrews
Iam a believer and Jesus loves me
Yet this world has a hold on me
I relax by watching comedy on TV
When men, just one another tease
I stock up my fridge with candies
cookies, pizzas and tasty cheese
I love orchids and delicious fruits
always busy planting those trees
Iam not properly covered at the beach
basking under the sun for breeze
Iam also passionate for machines
my hands full of oil and grease
I work and save all the money I can
bit proud in holding my safe's keys
I yearn for holidays,so that iam free
to ride a horse or play golf at ease
I also take my glittering car out
asking my mom, one more ride please
One day I remembered a song, so cool
I used to sing that in my sundayschool
The world behind me, the cross before me
no turning back, no turning back
The song clearly gave my mind a whack
and I started to think sensibly...
Did I love the world more than my Jesus?
I was ashamed as I did what my flesh pleases
Then I heard a still small voice calling
My son do you love me, more than these?
NEXT?
Why don't you look at
I was raised on rebel music
