The Web Poetry Corner - Alfy Andrews - High Hopes

High Hopes

by

Alfy Andrews

A man lived on the high solid rock
Like a wise man, He chose Christ
But at times he comes down to land
To plunge himself into the miry clay
Though he knows, his is the narrow way
He lingers in the mud, forgetting the rock above
Yea he is a guy who took advantage of God's love
Lord cant help, he says on his knees
Still our Lord Jesus graciously forgives
The healing of Christ's once shed blood
With might lifts him from the miry mud
It chastens ,gives hope and quickens him
The merit of Jesus's blood, saves him
As he slowly climbed back to the rock on high
He thanked Jesus, who for all once did die.
