The Web Poetry Corner - Alfy Andrews - Gilded Toys of Dust
Gilded Toys of Dust
by
Alfy Andrews
This earth is cool with lots of things to buy
all I need is money to enjoy as days go by
John Bunyan said we all come across vanity fair
Shopping and spending money here and there
Sometimes our souls need to be guarded with care
we love to buy what others have, even our saved creed
Giving into peer pressure we all give into greed
Jesus my Lord I really love the things of this world
Lord I love to buy all that pleases my eyes
control of desire is really a tough exercise
Grant me grace to know that all in thy fold are rich
Help us Lord, for the gadgets of this world do bewitch
NEXT?
Why don't you look at
Winter
