The Web Poetry Corner - Alfy Andrews - Behold This Name
Behold This Name
by
Alfy Andrews
Corrupt and wicked ,while I was still young
Innocence was never my portion
Behold I was conceived in sin
Ever since my legs were set in motion
my feet made haste to sin and hell
Can pearls be found in mud and clay?
or there be any righteousness in my ways
During monsoon like the overflowing well
sins accumulate and sound like the tolling bell
Like the guitar riff of a heavy metal band
my sins rock me in and out and i yell
The bee instinctively steals the plant's pollen
so shall the devil leave every soul barren
oh so serious is this thing called sin
it has the hearts of young and old stolen
I cry, is there anyone in this universe
who can this sin's power destroy and disperse
yes came the answer ,from heaven loud n clear
Who can the saviour's honoured title wear?
Heavens echoed the sweetest name ive heard
It was Lord Jesus Christ the good shepherd.
